1 Materia ஃ Action / Voice

[Today was a very off day for Yuffie. Two things were currently getting on her last nerve.
1. Those new pair of wings that were killing part of her balance,
And 2. This dress that was NOT helping with the rest of her balance.
She was already having a hard enough time climbing, and jumping from one tree to another around the forest carrying this random book that had her name on it. (Which is the only reason she decided to bring it along.) But just as she finally found the edge of the forrest.

She was doing as well as a good ninja could, but getting excited at the sight of a village made her misstep. Now it wouldn't have been so bad if she would have just landed on the ground, but noo, she was to high up. Instead she ended up getting one of her feet caught in a jumble of branches, along with one of her new, and now painfully annoying pair of wings. And while normally she'd just cut herself down...SOMEONE took away her sharp objects...

So with having only one free arm, the other one keeping her loose dress from falling down, and showing more than what was needed, she decided that now would be the best time to use this talking book.]

Hey! HEY!! Whoever or whatever can hear me through this thing, because I know someone can, it would be really, really great if you could come find me, and cut me down. Hanging from one of these new damn wings is REALLY uncomfortable...

Oh, and pants would also be nice...actually, I'd go for the pants first. I don't even care what kind!

Nooot from this angle. And don't ask me to twist around, because I've already tried that, and it made my new pair of wings very uncomfortable.

[This would be the noise of Ami already heading out the door.]

Well, it's not like I'll be going anywhere until someone helps, so yeah, I'm decent.

I'll free you carefully when I come. [But first, how to find Yuffie when she could be anywhere...?] I'll try to find a way to make noise so you can hear it once I get close and guide me.

I should introduce myself as well. I'm Ami Mizuno.

Or you could just look for a girl that's hanging from a tree...I think that's pretty hard to miss.

I'd have to find the right area still, first. Let's see... the village, near the forest. I know the area, so I should be able to find it soon.

Well I'm not going anywhere, unless these branches suddenly give.

Even so, I'm sure you'd rather be more comfortable sooner.

[And in just another minute or so-]

I think I see you now. [Ami hurries towards the glimpse she's caught of what seems to be a girl a bit younger than her - hung in a tree, as told.]

That would be true.

[At the sight of someone, Yuffie will drop her journal, and just wave. Yep, still not going anywhere..]

[She is not tempted to laugh, she is not tempted to laugh, she is not tempted to laugh.

Ok, maybe she is - just a tiny bit. But she doesn't. It'd be mean, and Yuffie's probably frustrated enough. Besides, it's the Malnosso's fault.]

I'm Ami Mizuno; we were just talking through the journal. I came to help if I can.

[If Yuffie could see herself, she'd probably laugh too...in a day or so. She knows she looks like an idiot.]

And I'm the girl stuck in a tree...you got anything sharp on you? That'd be really helpful, since all my weapons are gone.

Just a pocket knife. [It's something, anyway - but not much good for anything Yuffie probably couldn't break with her hands. Ami fishes it out of a pocket despite that.]

That'll work just fine. [All she needs to do is get her wing free, and cut and tie up this dress so it doesn't fall off the second she lets go of it. Untangling her foot is the easy part.]

[Ami quickly puts a hand up to support some of Yuffie's weight, making it easier to cut and free herself.]

That should be a little bit better now.

No, it's fine, my foot is already numb! [And she's finally smiling. Finally something sharp. She'll quickly take the knife, and slice the dress in a way so that she can tie it thightly around one leg.

Once that problem is gone, she'll be doing a very uncomfortable looking twist so she can grab whatever is holding onto her wing with one arm, and snapping/slicing through it as quickly as possible.]

Now for the easy part. [She'll be handing that pocket knife back now.]

[Ami takes back the knife by rote, slipping it back in her pocket.]

Thank goodness. You should be able to get down now. [Not that she's running off; she'll be right there, ready to offer help or a boost.]

I'm looking more forward to feeling my leg again.

[The untangling doesn't take very long. She's actually free in less than a minute, and falling straight to the ground.

And landing neatly on both feet, except one is asleep, so she's not so gracefully stumbling around.]

Watch out! [Ami's eyes widen immediately, and she hurries forward to catch Yuffie's arm to keep her stable.]

Thanks.. [Once she gets her balance back, she'll just be standing on one foot for a while.] It'll be fine in a minute or two.

[Luckily, Ami's mostly learned to control her own current problem: a Malnosso experiment that makes her prone to float off the ground occasionally.]

I'll stay with you for awhile. I can show you wherever you need to go.

[Yeah, that's lucky, or they both might've done a faceplant.]

Well that might be a problem. I don't actually know where I need to go!

This is called Luceti - this village. Has anyone told you about it yet? [Best to start from what Yuffie hasn't heard yet, instead of what she already knows.]

I took the time to skim through that guide in the book. It all seems pretty straightforward.

If your friends aren't here, you can look for somewhere to live in the village, or stay at the Welcome Center awhile.

I'll have to go check around before doing that.
