Yuffie is no normal teenager. Sometimes she can act her age, and other times she can act like the annoying little kid that she really is, and there’s really no one that can control her. She’s spent her whole life doing whatever she wanted to do, and while she has taken up some kind of responsibility she still does things her way and has a real hard time following directions. Though that doesn’t mean she won’t do what she’s asked, it just means that the task will be done, but by however she sees that it should be done. She’s well aware that doing that ticks people off, but she will just brush them off, and go on a small rant as to why her way is better.
While she is a great ninja, Yuffie has some serious problems acting like a real ninja. Yuffie is loud. Annoyingly loud. Instead of sneaking up on someone, she makes a point to introduce herself and make a flashy entrance. While it almost always ends out in a bust, that does not deter her from doing it again and again, and always making herself sound more important. Saying that, Yuffie has a very big ego. She thinks highly of herself, and…not so much of everyone else.
Having as much energy as Yuffie does, she is always in need of something to do. Like before Advent Children, she had been teaching the children of Wutai to be ninjas, and now she’s gotten herself into some serious intel. gathering, which has been sending her all over the place so she hasn’t gotten the change to get bored of that job just yet. Which does say that when she wants to be she can be extremely good at her job, especially when she finds it fun, or if it’s for a good cause. Two years ago she wouldn’t have even thought that doing such things for others would be her thing, but now she’s loving it.
It does not take much to find the annoying side of Yuffie. She can easily annoy the calmest person, and she herself is just as easily annoyed. It’s very easy for her to find the sore spots with certain people, and will happily poke those spots if she either doesn’t like the person, thinks they need to loosen up, or just for fun if she’s feeling down. She often speaks before thinking of any consequences, which gets her into trouble quite a lot, and ends in a lot of yelling competitions…or with Vincent some very serious staring competitions. (Which she probably loses every time.) Or even getting herself slapped. She even has a problem with acting before thinking. That gets her into all sorts of trouble…(It’s really never a good idea to steal the materia of people that are going to attempt to save you after you get yourself kidnapped…)
Wutai is still a big part of Yuffie’s life. After beating the daylights out of her own father, she is practically in charge now, and after ShinRa fell apart she kept her promise to bring it back to the proud and powerful independent nation it once was. She is defensive when it comes to talking about Wutai’s past, and only speaks of it as the great nation that she believes it still is. And of course, now she doesn’t need to steal any more materia for Wutai, so she’s now a much more trustworthy person to be around.
Since Yuffie did not grow up like a normal person, she is extremely independent. She isn’t used to too many people worrying about her, since it’s well known that her father didn’t even pay attention to her as a child, and ending up growing up hating her only remaining family. And growing up like that, she doesn’t do well in some kinds of situations. People getting to serious around her makes her feel awkward, and she will start changing the subject to something that isn’t as awkward, or think of some way to leave. And even in situations she just can’t say the right things. She’s extremely blunt with everything, and everybody no matter what, and never sugarcoats the bad news. She gives it to everyone straight, which is why she gets annoyed when people aren’t as blunt as her. If everything were as straightforward as she was, it would be a lot easier to understand.
Not often does she show it, but Yuffie is actually a very smart teen. She’s lived through a war as a child, and during those years found out how to trick a SOLDIER into doing her bidding, even if she was just a small ninja crybaby. As she got older she taught herself how to fight, and learn all the skills of a ninja without the help of her useless father. She easily tricked a very dangerous group of people into going to Wutai just to steal their materia. And now she’s practically the one running Wutai while she’s traveling around the world, and helping to bring down a very dangerous group of people. Though she is smart, she doesn’t always like acting like it, since it’s not as fun for her.
Materia is still a very important part of Yuffie’s world. While she isn’t one to steal it from her friends anymore, she’s still pretty protective of it, and will still threaten to kill anyone bad that so much as looks at her materia funny. Though she will lend, LEND her materia to her friends if they need it in a fight.
Physical Yuffie is extremely strong for someone her size. She is able to wield weapons with such ease that wouldn’t be possible to any normal person who would have problems just lifting it up. And she doesn’t exaggerate when she says that she’s the best ninja in all of Wutai. She’s quick enough to run up the side of a very tall building. (Final Fantasy physics) She’s been able to sneak up on even the great Vincent Valentine, and is very good at staying hidden for a long period so she can spy on people. She’s a great thief, even since she was a little kid, and able to steal something that a person only turned their back on for a moment.
The girl also has an unspoken amount of energy. If her body would allow it, there’s no doubt that she could stay up for days fighting, or just running around. She uses this to her advantage after the first FFVII game when she goes back to Wutai and starts training the children there how to be ninjas. REAL ninjas! Then before DoC she happily goes all around the world to spy on various groups, and gather information, just because it gives her something to do.
Mental It may not be very apparent, but Yuffie is extremely smart. She’s excellent at gathering information. (Which actually becomes her job in DoC) She can adapt easily to all kinds of situations, and she’s a quick thinker. With those two traits, she can get along with anybody, even if she’s faking it. They are also why she could just pop up into the group, fight them, try to trick them to steal their material then turn around and happily help them and become their friends.

Emotional No matter how bad the situation, Yuffie is the one person anyone can count on to be positive and cheerful. And while she may not be the best with showing her emotions, she uses her negative and positive emotions to make her stronger in the situation. And when the time is right, she will not hesitate to use her emotions against someone. She finds it almost amusing to annoy someone as much as they are annoying her, and can sometimes use her emotions in certain situations to help her get some information out of someone. Like with yelling at someone for so long will eventually get someone to say something they shouldn’t have.
Weaknesses:
Physical Klutz. She might be the greatest and strongest ninja in all of Wutai, and the world, but no matter how hard she tries, she cannot help but fall flat on her face. Especially in her most important introduction speeches.(And will complain until someone asks if she’s alright.) Her biggest weakness is the fact that she is a ninja who gets motion sick. For a good while after riding in a car/boat/train/airship she is completely useless and will be found lying down with an icepack on her forehead for a few hours so she won’t barf. She has found a few ways to deal with it, and while it has gotten better over the years, she still can’t function properly while onboard anything moving.
Mental Yuffie suffers from a very bad obsession of materia. No matter what is happening around her, her mind is almost always set on materia first. It goes so far that she would even put her own life, and the lives of others in danger to obtain it. Of course, afterwards she will apologize, but not until after.
Yuffie is also quite dense when it comes to certain things. From Crisis Core, it’s quite obvious she never went to school, and instead stalked SOLDIERs, so not everything is very obvious to her. Even in Advent Children she couldn’t understand what the heck was going on. (Because Tifa wasn’t talking, and the boys weren’t telling her anything that made sense to her.) If it’s not obvious to her, she will usually ask questions, and if she doesn’t get an easy answer, she just unhappily gives it up, and watches/waits.
Emotional She is still an emotional teenager, and nothing can change that. She is easily angered and will take her anger out on anyone and anything that is not helping the situation. She readily yells at anyone who says something that she doesn’t want to hear, and has no problems with going off to attack something until she feels better. She’s still very childish with her emotions too. Though she doesn’t cry anymore, she will stomp off like a little annoyed kid. She’s also not very good with serious moments. If someone gets too serious about something she says, she’ll become very embarrassed, and try to wave it off as quickly as she can before starting another topic to make the time not so awkward.
Alright, let’s count the ways that make this day suck.
I’m in a forest I’m pretty sure isn’t one that I’ve ever seen before, and I’ve seen all of them. I am now wearing a dress. A dress of all things! And a plain white one too, and the jerks that did this didn’t even have the courtesy to give me shoes. I have no materia, I don’t even have my weapon, and FINALLY I have a nice set of painful wings attached to my back!
To my count, that’s six, and this type of situation can only mean two things. Either I was kidnapped, again, or somehow Reeve set this up, and thought it would be funny.
WELL IT’S NOT! When I found out just what’s going on, you better believe I’m going to kick someone’s ass. And don’t think I’ll go easy on you just because you put me in this dress!
It’ll hurt even worse! Count on it!
Third Person:
Waking up had never been a problem for Yuffie. On any normal day she could bounce right out of bed, and get started. After a hard day she would normally like to sleep in a few extra minutes, but on any morning it was never a hard thing to get up, except for today. Moments after waking up, it was all she could do to even open her eyes a bit, and get her head focused. She knocked the back of her head on the ground a few times to try and shake the feeling, but the only thing that managed to do was make the back of her head hurt, which made even less sense. Hitting the back of her head on a pillow wouldn’t normally do anything but make a poof sound, but it felt like she was hitting her head on the ground…
Then it started to make sense. While trying to shake off the lasting sleepiness, she started feeling the ground around her. It felt like grass. Now, while it would’ve been possible that she fell out of bed in the middle of the night, she was fairly certain that she had never gotten up in the middle of the night, walked outside, and made herself comfortable on the ground. Finally after shaking off the last bit of sleepiness, she sat up, rubbing her eyes before looking around, only to find herself quite outside. Outside in a forest at that, and a forest that really just didn’t feel familiar at all. She took quite some time looking around before she finally noticed that something else was quite off. Not only was she no longer in any clothes she could recognize, she was in a white dress that she knew was not hers.
Quickly realizing that everything wrong was just too much at once, she jumped to her feet, frantically trying to find anything that was hers…but nothing. Nothing at all actually. There was absolutely nothing but things normally found in the forest around her.
Every single thing was gone! How the hell did she sleep through something like that? Even if she was drugged, it was hard to believe she would sleep through getting pulled out of bed, getting redressed, and getting wings firmly attached to her back-

“OH GOD!! I look like some kind of ShinRa SOLDIER freak! GET THEM OFF!!”
