[Yuffie has been only somewhat quiet over the journals. She hasn't really spoken up since that last experiment, and that's not usually her style. Now today, Yuffie wanted to have a little fun. She even found this interesting cloak to run around in today, especially since it is getting colder, and her clothes were not meant for anything but Spring and Summer. So today, instead of her shorts, she's in some nice loose pants, not something a ninja should wear, but unless someone looks really closely, she can easily pass for a boy this day.

What has she got in store? Well, not much. She's going people stalking. Following anyone from a safe distance (Out of range of any normal weapon.) And once she is noticed, she's not saying a word. She will happily stand there and watch what the person does through the slit in the hat of her cloak. She's quite curious about what people will do, especially since she possibly doesn't seem to threatening.


After getting bored of people stalking she will be found with the hood down, and sitting by the fountain in the village.]

I've been wondering. People have been asking for some training, an sparring...I was wondering if I could call out some of the ninja's. Yeah, I know. Shush, you're a ninja. Feel free to put up a filter, or hide your face, but I need a good fight. I feel like I'm not doing anything to stay in shape.

OH! One more thing. The little ninja kid I found....Nagato? I'm curious  what you look like normally!

"...No, not exactly." He shook his head, groping for words as to how to explain without explaining... and finding none.

"I died while in ill health. I was revived at home and made myself better, then died again. Then I came here."

Congratulations, Yuffie is speechless. Yeah, her world was almost destroyed by an alien that summoned a meteor. Vinny was in a coffin for over 8 years. There's monsters everywhere, and so much more...

But dying, and coming back to life? Nope, that's a whole new territory.

Oh dear. Um. Time to reassure then!! He held up his hands in a placating gesture. "I was just one of hundreds that had been revived, and it wasn't true revival. I can do that myself, and it's very different."

Bringing someone back to life is still pretty strange. She has to believe him because it can happen here, and a few people have said they know someone that could, but it's still weird.

She can only picture zombies.

"...Different?"

He paused for a moment, thinking about how to explain. "How I was revived was... temporary, under the control of someone else's will." He shook his head slightly. "What I can do brings a person back to their state before death, and has a more limited time frame in which it can be done."

[materiathief]

"Well, that's a pretty interesting skill to have." She can just do the normal ninja stuff...plus whatever materia she has.

[teachingpeace]

"It's what killed me the first time though. I did... mention my health was poor."

[materiathief]

"So it's something you can over use?"

[teachingpeace]

"Oh yes. I revived an entire village, then promptly died. I... won't be doing that again, thank you."

[materiathief]

"Yeah, that sounds a little like over use." But at least that makes him a good guy.

That's one way to look at it... He's not going to get into details.

"Essentially. I haven't had opportunity to see if all my skills work here." He paused a beat, looking sideways at her. "Out of curiosity, can you do anything of your magic without materia?"

[materiathief]

Give her a moment to answer. She only knows about his death skills..."I've learned some magic from the spirits here, but without my materia, I'm quite a bit stronger and faster than normal ninja's." So she was told by a ninja turtle.

[teachingpeace]

"Shinobi back home usually subconsciously augment themselves when running and jumping. Is it something like that?"

[materiathief]

"Nope. It's all physical." Which she is very proud of. Her and Tifa are probably the most in shape girls in the world.

[teachingpeace]

He looked thoughtful. "Ah, that's a bit unfortunate then. However,it's good for your health at least."

[materiathief]

"Why did you wanna know?"

[teachingpeace]

"Because if you're unable to use chakra at this point, offering to teach you anything not taijutsu wouldn't get us very far."

[materiathief]

"...Chakra. Someone else mentioned it. And how do I know if I can use it or not?It's not like I ever had a teacher?" And with part of the lifestream in her, who knows?

[teachingpeace]

"True. Then we'll do this the simplest way. It is a bit like magic after all..." He nodded once and then hit the problem of trying to figure out how to explain it to her in terms that weren't casting.

[materiathief]

"Awesome." She's always ready to learn a new way to fight, though she'll wait. She knows just how hard it is to explain things from her world.

[teachingpeace]

It was a moment before he figured out how to come at this. "Everyone has some form of chakra in their body, this is what I use, and why when I used it all up, I died. It's actually very hard to use it all up if you know what you're doing, though over training can be a real risk for some people."

So far that sounded good. "So, for you, you would want to look inside yourself until you feel the spark that's connected to your body and mind, and that flame would be the chakra that you live on. It's hard to learn to use, at first, but... the first step is being able to access it. I'm honestly not sure how different from your magic it is though..."

[materiathief]

"Huh. That sounds a little like the lifestream. It gives people and the planet life, and since it's sorta used when using materia, it's easy to find...It's why I can use materia in a different way."

She's just never thought about seeing it what it can do, for her. She's seen what it does...made a few people go crazy, but that can't happen to her...hopefully.

[teachingpeace]

"Using materia was... different. Like it wasn't pulling from me the same way chakra does." He vaguely remembered that sensation. "It was missing something."

[materiathief]

"Yeah, materia is connected to the lifestream, since that's what it's actually made of. It can be forced to use, but I always feel it in me before I use it." That connection makes it fast and easy to use the materia.

[teachingpeace]

He shook his head slightly. "And using chakra is using your own energy, usually. There are outside sources, but those aren't the same."
